Terms, Conditions & Disclaimer
The PAA Mentor Match Program (MM) is provided as a matching Service for the members of Psychologists' Association of Alberta. Participants must be 18 years of age or the age of majority in the area in which they live to use the Service.
By using the Service, you agree that you will not:
- use the Service for any purpose that is illegal or prohibited by this Agreement.
- use the Service for any harmful or nefarious purpose
- use the Service in order to damage PAA
- spam, solicit money from or defraud any members.
- impersonate any person or entity or post any images of another person without his or her permission.
- bully, "stalk", intimidate, assault, harass, mistreat or defame any person.
- post any Content that violates or infringes anyone's rights, including rights of publicity, privacy, copyright, trademark or other intellectual property or contract right.
- post any Content that is hate speech, threatening, sexually explicit or pornographic.
- post any Content that incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
- post any Content that promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual.
- solicit passwords for any purpose, or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other members or disseminate another person's personal information without his or her permission.
- use another member's account, share an account with another member, or maintain more than one account.
- create another account if we have already terminated your account, unless you have our permission.
PAA reserves the right to investigate and/or terminate your account without a refund of membership if you have violated this Agreement, misused the Service or behaved in a way that PAA regards as inappropriate or unlawful, including actions or communications that occur on or off the Service.
Participants in the program match at their own discretion and risk and PAA is not liable for any damages resulting from any interaction between the Mentor and Mentee. PAA takes all reasonable precautions to ensure any participant is or previously was a PAA Member in good standing. PAA does not provide any vetting of program participants and participants should exercise due caution when interacting with someone they have matched with. PAA is not responsible for the conduct of any member on or off of the Service. You agree to use caution in all interactions with other members, particularly if you decide to communicate off the Service or meet in person. You agree that you will not provide your financial information (for example, your credit card or bank account information), or wire or otherwise send money to other members.
YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER MEMBERS. YOU UNDERSTAND THAT PAA DOES NOT CONDUCT CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS ON ITS MEMBERS OR OTHERWISE INQUIRE INTO THE BACKGROUND OF ITS MEMBERS. PAA MAKES NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES AS TO THE CONDUCT OR COMPATIBILITY OF MEMBERS.
However, in the event that any inappropriate conduct does occur and is brought to the attention of the PAA, PAA will take all appropriate action. PAA takes no responsibility for any content that you or another member or third part posts, sends or receives through the Service. Any material downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Service is accessed at your own discretion at risk.
The Mentor Match Program Psychologists' Association of Alberta is not responsible for the opinions, behavior, and information provided by any participant of the program. PAA is not liable for any advice or guidance provided by participants or any decision-making, or actions made by the member as a result of accessing this program.
In no event will the PAA, its affiliates, employees, licensors, or service providers be liable for any indirect, consequential,, exemplary, incidental, special, punitive, or enhanced damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (I) Your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Service, (II) The conduct or content of other members or third parties on, through or following use of the Service; or (III) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your content, even if PAA has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We disclaim all warranties with regard to information posted on this site, whether posted by Psychologists' Association of Alberta or any third party; this disclaimer includes all implied warranties of merchantability and fitness. In no event shall Psychologists' Association of Alberta be liable for any special, indirect, or consequential damages or any damages whatsoever resulting from loss of use, data, or profits, arising out of or in connection with the use or performance of any information posted on this site.
Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Do not post any information or other material protected by copyright without the permission of the copyright owner. By posting material, the posting party warrants and represents that he or she owns the copyright with respect to such material or has received permission from the copyright owner. In addition, the posting party grants Psychologists' Association of Alberta and users of this site the nonexclusive right and license to display, copy, publish, distribute, transmit, print, and use such information or other material.
Messages should not be posted if they encourage or facilitate members to arrive at any agreement that either expressly or impliedly leads to price fixing, a boycott of another's business, or other conduct intended to illegally restrict free trade. Messages that encourage or facilitate an agreement about the following subjects are inappropriate: prices, discounts, or terms or conditions of sale; salaries; profits, profit margins, or cost data; market shares, sales territories, or markets; allocation of customers or territories; or selection, rejection, or termination of customers or suppliers.
Psychologists' Association of Alberta does not actively monitor the site for inappropriate postings and does not on its own undertake editorial control of postings. However, in the event that any inappropriate posting is brought to the attention of Psychologists' Association of Alberta we will take all appropriate action.
Psychologists' Association of Alberta reserves the right to terminate access to any user who does not abide by these guidelines.
